What does Coupage means? Coupage is a French word that is used in the world of wine and oil to define mixtures of olives – grapes varieties and therefore oil – wine. You can also use the word blend which means the same, all our oils are coupages (pluvarietal oils), mixtures of varieties. They are pluvarietal oils, not only because they are not monovarietal olive trees but also because all around when the olive tree blossoms the pollen is of different varieties. Our varieties are never going to be the same as a single varietal arbequina around monovarietal olive trees.
